Memory Maker Needed: Each year, Central Elementary provides a DVD/CD for each 5th grade student as a keepsake. We need one parent to put together an approximately 10-15 minute movie/slideshow (with music) to be shown at the 5th grade promotion. Patty Rocker will make copies for each student to get as a keepsake of their years at Central Elementary. We will have 5th grade parents and our teachers send pictures to the volunteer-parent to help assemble the movie. Group shots of students at lunch, recess, field trips, class parties, band/strings/chorus performances from Kindergarten thru 5th is what we need! Please email procker@aacps.org if you are willing to compile the pictures and make our 5th grade promotion DVD.
Yearbook Picture Request: The Yearbook Committee wants to include a new page , "Kids with Animals Page," so if anyone is interested in sending Mrs. Morris a picture of your child with their favorite pet/animal that would be GREAT! Just one picture per student please, you can send them to gmorris@aacps.org by February 29, 2012.

Students Riding Other Buses: The front office has been getting a number of notes from students wanting to go home on different buses with friends for playdates, dance classes, sports activities etc. These requests cannot be approved as this is against the County School Board Policy. Some bus drivers have refused to permit a student on the bus so the parents have been called to retrieve the student in the office. School bus changes for daycare purposes need to be done at least 5 days in advance of the event and a school board form must be completed.
Tiger Treasures Fundraising: Don't forget to place your gift card orders through Tiger Treasure Fundraising! These store cards make great gifts to give to friends and family, while greatly benefiting the school. They are also wonderful for everyday purchases as well. Orders are due the 1st of each month. They will be available for pickup by the 15th. If you have any questions, review the enrollment form, the participating stores list, or contact Holly Ruckman.
Lost and Found: Please take a moment to check out the lost and found located in the cafeteria next time you're at school if your child has lost something. Don't forget to label coats and outwear.
Birthday Goodies Reminder: If you bring in or drop off a birthday snack for your student to share at lunch time, please remember that county rules require that they be store bought items (not homemade) and please have them be individual servings. The easiest items are cookies, cupcakes or donuts. These can be dropped off in the mornings at the office and the office will make sure that the student has them for their lunch times.
